The worst thing that could happen to a photographer happened to me last Friday. I was asked to cover the launching of Cafe Mondial (formerly Al Dente). While taking shots of the folks, I noticed that my shots were always over-exposed.
I also tried to modify the Flash settings through my 40D and the screen told me – ‘Incompatible Flash’!!! I was shocked and I tried as much as I could to make things work. I was scared that my 580 EXII was damaged! Good thing I had taken some good shots of people. I had several over-exposed shots (too much flash) but I was able to recover them coz I shot in RAW. Thank goodness for RAW!
It was very embarrassing for me to not be able to shoot as much as I could during that event.
The next day, I also had to go to a baptism (I was the godfather), and of course, as expected, I wasn’t able to shoot a lot.
Good thing that Canon Service Center was open on Saturday. I passed by and had my flash and camera checked. We narrowed it down to a Flash Problem. The hotshoe connector was already lose and the Canon guys were kind enough to fix it for free!!!
THANK YOU, CANON! AND THANK YOU FOR HAVING GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Well, they really didn’t fix anything, they just tightened the connector. I think it really becomes loose after some time, if you know what I mean…
Hehehe!
Well, enough of my boring story. I’ll post some photos of Cafe Mondial now…Hope you like them.
